Terms of Participation & Ambassador Code of Conduct

Last Updated: October 9, 2026 • Indian Mediation Week 2026 Cohort

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering as a Student Ambassador, Volunteer, or Organizing Committee member of Indian Mediation Week (IMW), or by submitting inquiries on the IMW platform, you agree to abide by these Terms of Participation, thePrivacy Policy, and the directives issued by the National Secretariat and Organizing Committee.

2. On-Ground Photography & Media Standards

Participant Consent: All photographs uploaded from mediation drives, street plays (Nukkad Nataks), and merchant camps must be obtained with the informed knowledge and consent of the participating citizens and students.

Absolute Ban on Synthetic & AI Imagery: To maintain electoral and civic authenticity, images generated or altered via artificial intelligence, synthetic image models, or recycled stock photographs are strictly prohibited. All drives are subjected to manual metadata and visual review by the Organizing Committee (OC).

Takedown Procedure: If any community participant requests removal of a photograph from public feeds, the image will be unlisted within 24 hours of notification to info@indianmediationweek.com.

3. Leaderboard Integrity & Penalty Framework

Verification & Points Accrual

Points are credited to an ambassador’s circle profile only after an Organizing Committee (OC) convenor verifies the drive details, citizen numbers, and supporting media. Drive submissions initially enter a PENDING_REVIEW state.

Score Penalties & Deductions

The OC and Secretariat reserve the authority to impose point deductions (from 10 to 1,000 points) or revoke ambassador accreditation for:
• Inflated or fictitious citizen reach numbers.
• Submitting synthetic or stock media.
• Unethical conduct during community legal clinics.

4. Five-Minute Drive Edit/Delete Window

In order to prevent retrospective record alteration and maintain an immutable audit trail, drives can be deleted by the logging ambassador only within 5 minutes of initial submission. After this window, corrections must be submitted through the official OC ticketing desk.

5. Student Ambassador Code of Conduct

  • Neutrality & Impartiality: Ambassadors must act as facilitators of consensual conflict awareness, avoiding political alignment or biased counsel.
  • Dignity & Respect: All community members, regardless of socioeconomic background, caste, religion, or gender, must be treated with equal dignity during legal awareness camps.
  • No Legal Advice: Student ambassadors raise awareness regarding consensual Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR); they do not provide formal legal counsel or represent disputants as advocates.
