I am Manjusha Tiwari, 4th year, Dr RMLNLU, Lucknow. I strongly believe Mediation is the need of the hour as parties play an active role in the negotiations and the aim is to resolve the dispute in a mutually beneficial settlement (unlike litigation where one party ends up being unhappy). Most people are not aware or have some apprehensions. I will reach out to people and explain in simple terms: what it is, how it works, benefits over litigation. Being the official Media Head of the Cultural Committee of the University, I have good rapport with media houses (Hindi and English). I will write both in Hindi and English about mediation and how people can connect with us for help. I would make sure every awareness drive that we undertake gets coverage in newspapers. Not only in Lucknow but I can also arrange awareness drives in some nearby districts like Behta, Banthara, Bahraich. I will organize Nukkad Nataks and distribute pamphlet with all the information and ways to approach us (Hindi and English on each side) in busy markets (targeting public, shopkeepers and their helpers), bastis and in malls in Lucknow. I have cordial relations with The Legal Aid Committee and the members of Legal Aid Camp so I will be able to seek any help and connect more people with them. We will be easily approachable and available. Since half knowledge is dangerous, we will provide complete knowledge, entertain queries patiently and also rectify any wrong preconceived notions.
