1. Why am I here?
Indian Mediation Week
23 Jan 5:37 pm

India has a backlog of 2.8 crore cases. According to Delhi High Court, it will take us 464 years to clear this
backlog. An average case in India takes 3-4 years with every hearing costing Rs 518. 0.4 percent of Indian
GDP goes on litigation.
The state of access to justice in India is extremely poor with litigation being a costly, time consuming and harrowing process.
You can help us change that.

3. What is mediation?
Indian Mediation Week
23 Jan 5:37 pm

Mediation, is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism, which helps people find solutions to their disputes in an amicable manner. It can save you time and money, and also preserve relationships. It remains strictly confidential and only those directly involved in the mediation will know what is discussed, disclosed or agreed in the meetings. Most mediation sessions are just a few hours and low cost. Most importantly, mediation gives you control over the outcome as it is completely voluntary.

They don't know about it. Awareness is a huge challenge with more than 54 percent of the people in India not being aware of mediation services. Some confuse it with medi't'ation or think it is the same as arbitration.
In order to combat this challenge, we organize the Indian Mediation Week (IMW).

10. Can you give me an example of scoring of a creative event?
Indian Mediation Week
23 Jan 5:37 pm

For example, you organize a street play on mediation in your locality, and some 100 people will watch it.
The quality of engagement will be judged on number of people who saw the seminar, the manner in which the play was conducted, the relevance of the target audience, impact of the event etc.
You would have get more marks if the same street play was in a court premises as compared to your locality because the target audience of a court is more relevant.
